First Email from Washington!!

Hey there family!!!
So i have been in Washington now for a week, today (tuesday) is P-day.
My companion is Elder Bell, he is from Alabama! Such a cool guy, he is a hard worker, which is good because we are in one of the most dead areas of the mission. Awesome wards but they arent all that excited about missionary work. So we have been doing tonnnnns of tracting and meeting with members trying to get something going.
We do have two investigators though, in the Skyview ward. We have two wards Skyview and Felida.
The two investigators are Jeff and Korri Nelson.
She was raised Catholic and he has 0 religious history. They are such incredible people, every time i see them i just get a huuuge smile on my face. Jeff says he likes me a lot more than Elder Bell's last comp haha.
The work is kinda slow over here, like i said, lotttts of tracting, walking around knocking on doors. Most of which dont open, and when they do...lets just say people in Vancouver arent the nicest in the world haha. There have been a few people who are just awesome but most just shut the door as we are talking haha.
But...we keep on walking and knocking.
This is the experience of a lifetime...it is the most difficult thing i have ever done honestly. Everyday is so hard...but when you get to actually teach someone...thats when it is worth it. Because when teaching with the Spirit...you can see it in there face that they feel something.
That is how the holy Ghost works, you feel it, its real and it has a real power. God gives us some amazing tools to come back to Him.
I hope that everyone is doing wonderful, if you would like to mail letters (or packages with food haha) mail them to the mission home adress.

Make sure you put my name haha, oh and make sure you ship it Priority, otherwise they cant forward it to me.
I love you all and hope everyone is doing great.
Love,
Elder Dylan T. Dutson

  1. A. I love that he told us the names of his investigators so that we can pray for them specifically, by name.

    B. Perfect timing to get his address cuz I made him a loaf of bread today. Now I know where to mail it!
